Mr. Associate Dean for Student Affairs


The duties of the Associate Dean for Student Affairs represent one of the key pillars supporting the Deanery of the College of Education for Humanities. This office serves as the primary body responsible for overseeing conferences, seminars, study sessions, and scientific activities within the college. In addition, it supervises the affairs of undergraduate and postgraduate students, ensuring their discipline during their academic studies and even after graduation.

The responsibilities of the Office of the Associate Dean for Student Affairs include responding to incoming official correspondence, monitoring student attendance and absences, ensuring compliance with the uniform code, reviewing the minutes of student disciplinary committees, coordinating the preparation of examination schedules with the academic departments, and ensuring the implementation of regulations and instructions issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as well as the applicable directives of the Presidency of Tikrit University.

Duties and Authorities of the Associate Dean for Student Affairs

  1. Receiving new students, organizing their acceptance lists alphabetically, registering them, assigning them to academic departments, providing dormitory departments with student names, and monitoring their accommodation.

  2. Organizing regular graduation documents with grades, verifying them, reviewing course units and requirements for all study levels, and issuing graduation certificates.

  3. Supervising the work of the Registration Division, distributing tasks among its staff, monitoring attendance, and approving their entitled regular leaves.

  4. Signing student IDs, official letters referring students to health centers and hospitals, issuing letters for continued attendance, and certifying the authenticity of graduation documents.

  5. Preparing statistics related to graduating students.

  6. Organizing student hosting within and outside Iraq.

  7. Managing student deferment procedures.

  8. Following up on study requirements for all undergraduate study levels.

  9. Coordinating the preparation of final examination schedules with academic departments.

  10. Coordinating the preparation of weekly lesson schedules with academic departments.

  11. Delivering and receiving examination booklets according to established rules.

  12. Calculating the graduation sequences of students at the college level.

  13. Following up with academic departments on student absences, preparing class absence sheets with student names and absence counts, posting them on notice boards, and warning students who exceed the legal absence limit.

  14. Organizing comprehensive reports on failing, withdrawing, and dismissed students.

  15. Supervising student cultural, social, and sports affairs in coordination with the Student Activities Unit.

  16. Preparing all matters related to midterm and final examinations and supervising the implementation of examination regulations.

  17. Coordinating with academic departments to enforce the student uniform policy and taking disciplinary actions against violators.

  18. Supervising the printing, photocopying, and reproductions needed by students for their studies in coordination with the Office of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and academic departments, and approving the purchase of scientific books, journals, and periodicals for the college library.

  19. Issuing administrative orders for student dismissal or failure due to absences, negligence, or violations of rules and regulations.

  20. Signing all documents related to exercising these authorities.
