In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon our Master Muhammad, his family, and all his companions.
The College of Education for Human Sciences is an extension of the College of Education, which was established in 1992. It is the fourth college established after the College of Education for Women, the College of Medicine, and the College of Engineering at Tikrit University. After the expansion of undergraduate and postgraduate studies, it was divided, according to University Decree No. (7/39/13237) on 26/8/2013, into two colleges: the College of Education for Pure Sciences and the College of Education for Human Sciences.
The college comprises seven academic departments: Arabic Language, English Language, Art Education, Educational and Psychological Sciences, History, Geography, and Quranic Sciences. The college seeks to continue contributing to society with the required scientific disciplines, having graduated approximately twenty-three generations of students who are well-versed in knowledge and learning, relying on modern teaching methods and adopting sound scientific curricula for research. This ensures that the college’s graduates are capable of competing in the labor market.
The college contains 59 classrooms of varying capacities according to the academic departments, fully equipped with all teaching requirements, and four discussion halls. Additionally, the college houses complete administrative offices for all academic departments. It also includes a computer laboratory, an internet hall with a capacity of 50 students, and a library that accommodates more than 80 students, providing scientific resources in all specializations. There is a GIS laboratory for the Geography Department and an art workshop for students of the Art Education Department.
The total number of students for the academic year 2023-2024 is 5,382, distributed as 3,616 in morning studies and 2,459 in evening studies. Additionally, 382 students were admitted to postgraduate studies for the academic year 2024. It is noteworthy that since 1995 until 2023-2024, the college has graduated 13,440 postgraduate students across all academic departments, except the Art Education Department, which is a newly established department.
The number of faculty members in the college is 335, distributed according to specialties and academic titles as follows: 99 Professors, 82 Associate Professors, 63 Lecturers, and 95 Assistant Lecturers. The number of administrative staff is 104.
The college now aims to achieve advanced levels of quality and academic accreditation by forming specialized committees. These committees focus on community service, identifying weaknesses for improvement, highlighting strengths for development, and enhancing administrative and scientific performance. Significant progress has been achieved in this regard.
We ask Allah Almighty to grant us success in our endeavors in service of our esteemed university.
