 A doctoral dissertation entitled “The Marginal Commentary of Imam Ismail ibn Muhammad Al-Qunawi (d. 1195 AH) on the Four Introductions of the Book Al-Tawdih by صدر الشريعة – A Study and Verification” was discussed at the Department of Quranic Sciences and Islamic Education, College of Education for Humanities, on Sunday, May 17, 2026, by the student Hudhaifa Yaseen Hamed.

The dissertation focused on the scholarly study and verification of the marginal commentary written by Imam Ismail ibn Muhammad Al-Qunawi on the four introductory sections of the renowned book Al-Tawdih by صدر الشريعة, highlighting its linguistic, jurisprudential, and اصولي significance within the Islamic scholarly heritage. The study further examined the scientific methodology adopted by Al-Qunawi in his commentary and its contribution to the fields of Islamic jurisprudence and اصول الفقه.
