A Master’s thesis was discussed today, Sunday, April 12, 2026, at the Department of English, College of Education for Humanities, by the student Abd Nihad Abdul Al-Samarrai, entitled:
“The Effect of the RADEC Learning Model on EFL University Students’ Creative Reading Skills.”
Creative reading skills are considered essential competencies for university students studying English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in modern education. However, the impact of the RADEC learning model on the development of these skills remains insufficiently explored.
This study aims to investigate the effect of applying the RADEC learning model on EFL university students’ creative reading skills. It also seeks to determine whether there are statistically significant differences in students’ achievement in creative reading skills at both recognition and production levels in the post-test. Furthermore, the study aims to identify which components of creative reading skills are most influenced by the RADEC learning model.
To achieve these objectives, the study adopted an equivalent-groups design with pre- and post-tests. The sample consisted of (60) second-year students from the Department of English, College of Education for Humanities, Tikrit University, during the academic year 2025–2026, representing 43% of the original population.
The examination committee consisted of the following faculty members:
