A Master’s thesis was discussed today, Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at the Department of English, College of Education for Humanities, by the student Aqeel Kamil Talal Al-Obaidi, entitled:
“The Effectiveness of the Visualization Mental Strategy on EFL University Students’ Story Reading Comprehension Skills.”
The visualization mental strategy is considered one of the instructional strategies employed to develop reading comprehension skills of narrative texts among EFL university students, particularly in enhancing their ability to construct mental images that support memory, comprehension, recall, information retention, and text interpretation.
The present study aimed to identify the effectiveness of the visualization mental strategy in developing university students’ reading comprehension skills of narrative texts in an EFL context. It also sought to examine its effectiveness in enhancing specific comprehension skills, including identifying the main idea, making inferences, critical thinking, written expression, and vocabulary in context.
