Master’s Thesis at the College of Education for Humanities Discusses “Al-Furusiyyah Al-Muhammadiyyah by Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah (d. 751 AH / 1350 CE): A Study of Methodology and Sources”

A Master’s thesis was defended at the Department of History, College of Education for Humanities, University of Tikrit, on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, by the student Aysar Hussein Aziz Al-Obaidi, entitled “Al-Furusiyyah Al-Muhammadiyyah by Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah (d. 751 AH / 1350 CE): A Study of Methodology and Sources.”

The significance of this study lies in its re-examination of Islamic heritage through an analytical perspective that highlights the scholarly methodology employed by classical Muslim scholars. It demonstrates how Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah transformed the concept of horsemanship and chivalry from a mere martial skill into a disciplined practice governed by Islamic principles and authentic sources.
