A Master’s thesis was discussed at the Department of Quranic Sciences and Islamic Education, College of Education for Humanities, on Wednesday (June 20, 2026), submitted by the student Ridwan Basho Ahmed Al-Ta’i, entitled “The Hadiths Narrated by Imam Ahmad (d. 241 AH) and Judged by Imam Al-Haythami (d. 807 AH) in Majma‘ Al-Zawa’id wa Manba‘ Al-Fawa’id with the Statement ‘Its Narrators are Trustworthy’: From the Chapter on Duha Prayer to the Chapter on Matters for Which a Muslim is Rewarded – Collection, Verification, and Study.”

The thesis aims to collect and examine the hadiths that Al-Hafiz Al-Haythami described in his book Majma‘ Al-Zawa’id wa Manba‘ Al-Fawa’id with the phrase: “Narrated by Ahmad and its narrators are trustworthy,” which were included in the Musnad of Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal. The study examined a total of twenty-five hadiths.

The research sought to trace these hadiths back to their original sources, analyze their chains of transmission and textual contents, and evaluate the accuracy of Imam Al-Haythami’s judgments concerning them. The researcher adopted Al-Haythami’s methodology in arranging the hadiths according to the chapters of the book. Each hadith was documented and its various chains of narration were studied, with attention given to cases of singularity in transmission. The chains of transmission were also analyzed in terms of continuity and interruption, alongside an examination of the narrators’ reliability and the identification of anomalies and hidden defects.
