On Sunday, September 21, 2025, the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences at the College of Education for Human Sciences held the defense of the master’s thesis submitted by Walaa Yaseen Ali, entitled:
“The Effectiveness of a Proposed Strategy Based on Ergonomics Principles in the Achievement of Fifth-Year Literary Female Students in Philosophy and Psychology and in Developing Their Enlightened Thinking.”
The study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a proposed instructional strategy grounded in ergonomics principles in improving the achievement of fifth-year literary students in philosophy and psychology, as well as in fostering their enlightened thinking.
The researcher adopted a quasi-experimental design with two equivalent groups (experimental and control) to suit the requirements of the study. The sample consisted of 62 female students selected purposively from Al-A’sha Secondary School and Al-Sharqiya Secondary School in the Al-Dour Education Directorate, Salah al-Din Governorate, during the academic year 2024–2025. The sample was randomly distributed into two groups: 32 students in the experimental group and 30 students in the control group.
The study reached the following conclusions:
- There is a statistically significant difference at the level of (0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental group and the control group in the achievement test, in favor of the experimental group.
- There is a statistically significant difference at the level of (0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental group and the control group in the post enlightened thinking scale, in favor of the experimental group.
- There is a statistically significant difference at the level of (0.05) in the mean scores of the experimental group between the pre- and post-tests on the enlightened thinking scale, in favor of the post-test.
