Under the patronage of the President of University of Tikrit, Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Humanities, Professor Dr. Imad Hamid Ahmed, the Department of Quranic Sciences and Islamic Education at the College, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center, organized a scientific course entitled “The Holy Qur’an and Students’ Mental Health” for the period (May 3–4, 2026).
The course aimed to highlight the role of the Holy Qur’an in promoting students’ mental health, and to demonstrate the impact of spiritual and faith-based values in achieving psychological balance and inner stability. It also addressed ways to cope with academic pressures and life challenges faced by students within the university environment.
The course included several scientific themes, including: the concept of mental health from a Qur’anic perspective; the effect of recitation and reflection (tadabbur) in calming the النفس; the role of faith in strengthening psychological well-being; and practical approaches to employing Qur’anic texts in psychological and educational counseling.
