Under the patronage of the President of University of Tikrit, Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Human Sciences, Professor Dr. Imad Hamid Ahmed, the Department of Quranic Sciences and Islamic Education at the College, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center, organized a scientific course entitled “The Objectives of Fasting in the Light of the Qur’an and Sunnah and Its Impact on the Behavior of University Students” for the period (1–2 March 2026).
The course aims to clarify the legislative objectives of fasting in light of the texts of the Holy Qur’an and the Prophetic Sunnah, highlighting the spiritual, educational, and moral dimensions of this act of worship. It also emphasizes the noble values embodied in fasting, which contribute to building a balanced personality based on piety, self-discipline, and a strong sense of responsibility.
Furthermore, the course seeks to highlight the role of fasting in refining the behavior of university students and strengthening the value system within the university environment by promoting patience, self-control, respect for time, and sincerity in the pursuit of knowledge. Such values are expected to positively influence students’ academic performance and their social relationships.
