Under the patronage of the President of Tikrit University, Prof. Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Humanities, Prof. Dr. Imad Hamid Ahmed, the Department of History at the College of Education for Humanities, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center, organized a scientific course entitled “Introduction to the Department of History”, held on Monday and Tuesday, January 12–13, 2026.
The course aimed to introduce students to the nature of the Department of History and its scientific and educational objectives, and to clarify its academic mission in preparing specialized cadres in historical studies. It also highlighted the approved curricula, fields of scientific research, and the career opportunities available to the department’s graduates in educational and cultural institutions.
The course included several themes addressing the establishment and development of the department, its main specializations and academic branches, in addition to introducing the scientific and research activities organized by the department, and its role in consolidating national identity and enhancing historical awareness among students.
