Under the patronage of the President of Tikrit University, Prof. Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Humanities, Prof. Dr. Imad Hamid Ahmed, the Department of Geography at the College of Education for Humanities, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center, organized a scientific seminar entitled “Factors Affecting Transportation” on Monday, January 12, 2026.
The seminar, chaired by Lecturer Dr. Hussam Ghanim Mohammed, Assistant Lecturer Yasser Hamad Khalaf, and Assistant Lecturer Safwan Hassan Khalaf, aimed to highlight the most significant natural, human, and economic factors influencing transportation networks and modes. It also addressed the role of transportation in supporting economic and social development, in addition to discussing the challenges facing the transportation sector and the means of developing it in line with the requirements of spatial planning and sustainable development.
At the conclusion of the seminar, the floor was opened for discussion, during which attendees enriched the session with their interventions and questions, emphasizing the importance of holding such scientific activities in enhancing academic awareness and strengthening geographical knowledge among students and researchers.
