Under the patronage of the President of University of Tikrit, Prof. Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Humanities, Prof. Dr. Imad Hamid Ahmed, the Department of Geography at the College of Education for Humanities, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center at University of Tikrit, organized a scientific course entitled “Urban Analysis: Digital Transformations and Contemporary Spatial Perspectives” on Monday (March 9, 2026).
The course was delivered by Prof. Dr. Riyadh Abdullah, Assist. Prof. Dr. Raghad Abdulhameed, Lect. Dr. Muayyad Sami Abdullah, and Lect. Dr. Abdullah Dakhil. It aimed to highlight recent developments in the field of urban analysis, particularly digital transformations and their impact on the study of urban phenomena and the analysis of spatial patterns in cities. The course also introduced modern methods and techniques used in spatial data analysis and the study of urban expansion.
Furthermore, the course sought to develop the skills of students and researchers in utilizing digital tools and modern geographic technologies to analyze urban issues. Such efforts contribute to providing contemporary scientific insights that help in understanding the transformations taking place in cities and proposing planning solutions that support sustainable urban development.
