Under the patronage of the President of the University of Tikrit, Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Human Sciences, Professor Dr. Emad Hamid Ahmed, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Center, held a scientific course entitled “Women’s Rights between Legislation and Practice” for the period January 21–22, 2026.
The course aimed to shed light on women’s rights as stipulated in national and international legislation, clarify the mechanisms for their implementation in practice, and discuss the challenges facing the effective enforcement of these rights within society. It also sought to enhance legal and social awareness of the importance of women’s empowerment and to ensure their active participation across various fields.
The course included scientific lectures and discussion sessions that addressed the legal framework of women’s rights, the gap between legislative texts and practical application, as well as the presentation of real-life models and experiences. In addition, proposals were put forward to promote a culture of respect for women’s rights and to consolidate the principles of justice and equality.
At the conclusion of the course, the organizers emphasized the importance of continuing to hold such purposeful scientific activities due to their effective role in raising rights-based awareness, reinforcing human values, and supporting the university’s efforts in serving society and fostering a fair and informed university environment.
