College of Education for Human Sciences, in Collaboration with the Continuing Education Center, Holds a Training Course Entitled “The Holy Qur’an and the Concepts of Sustainability and Human Development: An Interpretive and Semantic Study in the Light of

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Tikrit, Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Human Sciences, Professor Dr. Emad Hamid Ahmed, the Department of Qur’anic Sciences and Islamic Education at the College, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Center, held a training course entitled “The Holy Qur’an and the Concepts of Sustainability and Human Development: An Interpretive and Semantic Study in the Light of Qur’anic Readings and Values” for the period January 21, 22, and 25, 2026.

The course aimed to highlight the concepts of sustainability and human development in the Holy Qur’an from an interpretive and semantic perspective, and to shed light on Qur’anic values and their role in building the individual and developing society. It also sought to clarify the impact of Qur’anic readings on expanding the cognitive and human dimensions of the Qur’anic text, enhance awareness of the importance of employing Qur’anic values in addressing contemporary challenges and achieving sustainable development, and develop participants’ skills in linking Qur’anic studies with modern human sciences.

This course is part of a series of scientific activities organized by the College of Education for Human Sciences in support of the academic process and in furtherance of the university’s role in serving society and building human capacity on solid scientific and value-based foundations.
