Under the patronage of the President of Tikrit University, Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Humanities, Professor Dr. Imad Hamid Ahmed, the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences at the College, in cooperation with the Center for Continuing Education, is holding a scientific awareness course entitled “University Environment Requirements and the Challenges of the First Academic Year”, for the period January 19–20, 2026.
The course aims to introduce first-year students to the nature of university life and its academic, psychological, and social requirements, and to highlight the main challenges they may encounter at the beginning of their university journey. These challenges include adapting to the university system, time management, and building positive relationships within the university campus, in addition to fostering a sense of responsibility and self-discipline.
The course also includes guidance and awareness-oriented themes focusing on the role of psychological and educational counseling in supporting new students and preparing them for positive integration into the university environment. This contributes to enhancing their academic achievement and psychological stability, and aligns with the university’s goals of preparing a conscious generation capable of successfully meeting the demands of university life.
